Margaret Ogden recommends BEING GOOD: AN INTRODUCTION TO ETHICS by Simon Blackburn (OUP) £9.99. Blackburn is Professor of Philosophy at Cambridge and the back cover reads: "Are there real standards? If God is dead, is everything permitted? What is virtue?
What is happiness? What is duty?".
Good SoF questions, dealt with simply in a readable and well-illustrated book.
