Last Things

LAST THINGS When I lie dying, Play me music — let Mahler Again beguile my ears Sibelius or Elgar and his dream:
Not for me banal chat Excluding what has been important To my growth.
Hold my hand, bathe me in sweet-smelling Lotions — attend to me with love And tell me that you’ll miss me.
Share with me my last grasp on Humanness — there is nothing else — and I love you.
Do not deny the reality Of where I am.

Garden Meditation, composed in the garden at Leicester and used by many at the conference.
