The great prophets of Israel, to whom so much ethical and spiritual advance is due, almost all met persecution and martyrdom, as did the founder of Christianity himself, and this pattern has repeated itself down the ages
David Christie-Murray, A History of Heresy, 1989
In 2002-2003 SoF UK commissioned a study on the allowability of doctrinal diversity in the Christian tradition. The study focused on the current situation, rather than on the history of doctrinal conflict and diversity, although of course some understanding of the history is necessary—and resources are provided on this page. Further contributions, comments or news of more recent cases will be welcomed.
